Terms of Service
1. About Solistant
Solistant provides estimated battery scheduling for home solar systems. It may connect to a compatible inverter or hot-water diverter, analyse household data and forecasts and, only where you enable automation, send scheduling commands to compatible equipment.
The service is operated by Ben Leonard, trading as Solistant, 1 Lyndhurst Road, Londonderry, BT47 5HS, United Kingdom. Contact: support@solistant.co.uk.
2. Accepting these terms
You must actively agree to these terms before creating an account. Our Privacy Policy explains how personal data is used. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
3. Your account
You must be at least 18 years old and a UK resident, provide a valid email address and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account and should tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.
4. Subscription and payment
Price and trial
Solistant costs £20 per year, including VAT where applicable. New accounts include a 14-day free trial. Unless cancelled before the trial ends, the subscription converts to a paid annual subscription and your app-store payment method is charged.
Renewal, cancellation and refunds
Subscriptions renew automatically each year. You can cancel at any time through your Google Play or Apple App Store subscription settings. Cancellation stops the next renewal; access continues until the current paid period ends. Refunds are handled by the relevant app store under its policies. Use Restore Purchases in the app to reconnect an eligible existing subscription.
5. Energy estimates and hardware control
Forecasts, tariffs, readings, inverter data, efficiency, cloud APIs, weather and household demand may be wrong, incomplete, delayed or unavailable. Commands are validated and rate-limited, but errors remain possible. Solistant does not replace manufacturer safeguards, your installer or a qualified electrician.
You must keep your equipment correctly configured, review plans, retain access to manufacturer controls and disable automation if you observe unexpected behaviour. Solistant is not responsible for outcomes caused by inaccurate or unavailable data, tariff or API changes, outages, power cuts, incorrect configuration, equipment faults or failure to monitor the system, except where liability cannot legally be excluded.
6. Service standards
We provide the service with reasonable care and skill as required by consumer law. Subject to that obligation and your statutory rights, the service is available on a best-efforts basis. We do not promise uninterrupted operation or that every forecast, estimate, schedule or command will be accurate, delivered or executed.
7. Liability
Nothing excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, including death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or applicable statutory consumer rights.
Subject to that, and to applicable law, our total liability for reasonably foreseeable loss directly arising from the service is limited to the greater of fees paid in the previous 12 months and £100. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for unforeseeable or indirect loss, loss of anticipated savings where results were described as estimates, or loss caused by matters outside our reasonable control.
8. Acceptable use
You must not access another person’s account, interfere with or scrape the service, submit deliberately false system information, break applicable law, or resell access without written permission. We may suspend accounts that materially breach these restrictions.
9. Intellectual property
Intellectual property in the app and service belongs to Ben Leonard, trading as Solistant. You receive a limited, non-exclusive and non-transferable licence for personal, non-commercial home energy management.
10. Ending use
You may stop using Solistant, cancel your store subscription and delete your account at any time. Account deletion does not itself cancel an app-store subscription.
We may suspend or end access for a material breach, legal requirement or discontinuation of the service. Where appropriate, we will give reasonable notice. Data is handled under the Privacy Policy; inverter-command audit records are pseudonymised and retained for three years.
11. Changes
We may update these terms. We will give at least 14 days’ notice of material changes by email, push notification or in-app notice. If you do not agree, you may cancel and delete your account before the changes take effect.
12. Law, complaints and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to consumer protections and any mandatory rights you have where you live. Please send complaints or questions to support@solistant.co.uk so we can try to resolve them informally.
